This is reported by Associated Press and Reuters, citing a briefing by Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco in California.

A man crossed the outer security boundary but was stopped at the inner perimeter, which was patrolled by police.

The suspect turned out to be a 49-year-old resident of Las Vegas, driving an unregistered black SUV with a "homemade" license plate. He claimed to be a journalist but had no identification on him.

Officers noticed that the interior of the suspect's vehicle was disorganized, and during a search, they found weapons and ammunition, as well as several passports and driver's licenses under different names. The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm.

The suspect's motives remain unclear; however, the sheriff stated that “we prevented something bad, and it doesn't matter what exactly was supposed to happen”.

The U.S. Secret Service believes that the incident did not affect Trump’s security and that he is not in danger, according to the prosecutor's office, although the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect was released on bail set at $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2025.

Attempts on Trump's Life

On the evening of July 13 (Washington time), Donald Trump was shot at during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A bullet struck the upper part of his ear, leaving a streak of blood on the politician's face.

The assailant killed one attendee at the rally and seriously injured two others. The shooter was shot dead by a Secret Service agent.

The FBI stated that they are investigating the shooting as an attempted murder. According to investigators, the shooter is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. His motives and political beliefs remain unclear.

Two months later, on September 15, there was a second assassination attempt on Trump while he was playing golf at his Trump International Golf Club. One of the Secret Service agents spotted a rifle barrel with a scope protruding from the golf course fence and "immediately engaged" with the individual.

When the shooter was noticed, he attempted to flee in his black Nissan SUV. However, he was pursued and apprehended.

The detained individual was Ryan Wesley Ruth. He worked as a builder of affordable housing in Hawaii and expressed his views on politics and current events on social media, sometimes criticizing the former president, while also showing strong support for Ukraine.
