Massive Attack on Christmas

On the morning of December 25, Russian forces launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine. The Air Force of Ukraine identified 184 aerial targets from Russia in the sky, most of which were intercepted.

The occupiers targeted Ukrainian energy facilities in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. There were damages reported. According to the Air Force of Ukraine, one of the cruise missiles even crossed into Moldovan airspace.

In DTEK, it was reported that the occupiers attacked the thermal power plants of the company, causing significant damage to the equipment. “Ukrenergo” announced emergency power outages.

This year marks the thirteenth massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and the tenth on DTEK's energy facilities. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK's thermal power plants have been targeted over 200 times.
