The expert notes that Russians have uniquely congratulated us on Christmas – they prepared their aviation overnight, deploying Tu-95 bombers for missile strikes, launched Shahed drones, and struck Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missiles. It is evident, he states, that Russia cannot accept that Ukraine has changed its Christmas celebration date and is aligning with European traditions, further distancing itself from Moscow.
“Meanwhile, Russian propaganda is loudly proclaiming that Ukraine will soon prepare a counteroffensive. For instance, an article on the Ukraine.ru website from December 21 discusses the possibility of a Christmas counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The authors refer to Ukrainian experts who believe that the Ukrainian army will undertake offensive actions during the holiday period,” reports Alexander Musienko.
Furthermore, he adds, there are outcries in Russian Telegram channels spreading information that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for a large-scale offensive in various directions, particularly in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, claiming that the Ukrainian command is accumulating forces and equipment for this purpose. The expert notes that the Gazeta.ru website even considers the possibility that President Volodymyr Zelensky approved a plan for a Christmas offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Firstly, this is very good because the enemy believes in the Ukrainian forces and understands that Ukraine has the capability to conduct offensive operations. Secondly, it is good because the enemy fears us, and we need them to be afraid of us; this is important. And thirdly, they themselves are not confident in their capabilities, which is also very good. Therefore, such publications in Russian propaganda outlets work to our advantage,” explains Alexander Musienko.
