On the night of Saturday, February 8, air raid alerts were declared in many regions of Ukraine due to the threat of strike drones.

139 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones were deployed.
The air defense intercepted 67 drones, reported the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 71 Russian decoy drones were locally lost.
Air defense operated in 14 regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Odesa.
As a result of the enemy attack, damage was recorded in the Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions, according to the Air Forces.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and five others were injured due to Russian aggression over the course of a day.
As reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the enemy destroyed two apartment buildings and seven private homes.
"Russian military forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, residential areas of the region, damaging two apartment buildings and seven private homes. The occupiers also vandalized a gas pipeline, a utility structure, and a private vehicle," the statement said.
