Orban's speech was interrupted by shouts accusing him of "selling" Hungary to Putin and Xi Jinping.

During a press conference in Strasbourg, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was confronted by a man who accused him of betraying the country.

Hungarian publications Telex, HVG.hu, and Hetek report on this matter.

A man rushed to the table where Orban was seated, threw fake money, and exclaimed: “How much did you sell out the country for, Mr. Prime Minister?” Security personnel grabbed the man, knocked him to the floor, and then escorted him out of the room.

During this, he continued to shout that Orban had supposedly “sold the country to Putin and Xi Jinping.” Orban commented on the incident, stating that “Hungarian is a very direct language, but when we call a politician a scoundrel, it simply means we disagree with him.”

It later emerged that the man who interrupted the press conference was Marton Gekitski, a member of the youth organization of the "Democratic Coalition" party. They acknowledged their representative's involvement in the incident.

The president of the political force, Ferenc Gyurcsány, wrote: “[Parliament Speaker László] Kövér could have taken away my word in parliament when I called the government a traitor, but we said it even then, and we will always say it everywhere: Hungary today has a treacherous government.”
