The medication will be dispensed by prescription
The first medical cannabis-based drugs have officially been registered in Ukraine. These include oral drops from a Spanish brand, which may appear in the country's pharmacies as early as the beginning of this year.
This is reported by the website “Patients of Ukraine”.
According to the information, in addition to cannabis oral drops, pharmacies will soon offer solid capsules, dental pastes, and gels—these forms of medication were approved by the Ministry of Health in 2024. The drugs will be sold in pharmacies based on an electronic prescription from a doctor in the patient's name.
Moreover, pharmacies that produce these medications must hold three licenses: for retail trade, for manufacturing drugs, and for handling narcotic substances.
It is worth noting that last year, Ukraine passed a law legalizing medical cannabis.
Reminder, employees of the Kyiv customs discovered almost 3 kg of cannabis hidden in packages of children's construction sets and cookies that were coming from Thailand.
