The number of victims from the Russian airstrike on an apartment building in the Sumy region has increased.

In the Sumy region, the number of people injured as a result of a Russian airstrike on a five-story building in the village of Svesa has risen to 10. Among the injured are two children.

Rescue workers note that by 7 PM, 14 people had been evacuated and a grandmother was rescued. Victims are receiving medical assistance at local healthcare facilities.

According to authorities, 15 apartments in the building were destroyed and approximately 700 windows were damaged.

A headquarters for managing the aftermath of the attack has been established on-site. The issue of relocating the affected individuals is being addressed.

As of 7:30 PM, debris removal is still ongoing.

On January 4, around 2:30 PM, Russian forces dropped two aerial bombs on a residential area in the Svessa community of Sumy region. According to data from the State Emergency Service, the entrance of a five-story building was destroyed from the fifth to the first floor. Overall, it was reported that four apartment buildings were damaged.

Preliminary reports indicate that there are 10 injured, including a two-year-old girl and boy.

The prosecutor's office is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes — this falls under part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
