During a telethon, advisor to the President's Office, Sergey Leshchenko, made this statement.
He mentioned that control over the Kursk region may be expanding in various directions, and following the commencement of new offensive actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this territory has started to extend towards the city of Kursk, which is “much more painful for Putin.”
Commenting on the news of the new offensive by the Defense Forces in the Kursk region, Leshchenko noted that it has caused hysteria among Russians, particularly due to the use of electronic warfare systems that have allowed Ukrainian armored vehicles to “traverse a significant open space.”
On January 5, the Defense Forces of Ukraine attacked the Russians on several fronts in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, stated Andrey Kovalенко, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council. According to him, this came as a surprise to the Russians.
Russian bloggers also reported on the ongoing advance of Ukrainian troops northeast of Sudzha towards Velikoye Soldatskoye, as well as heavy fighting near the Berdin farmstead.
