Stolen property returned to the owner
Police have detained a man who committed theft from a military pickup truck.
This is reported by the Kyiv police communication department.
“Recently, a soldier contacted the special line 102, reporting that at night, in one of the courtyards of the apartment buildings in the Svyatoshyn district of Kyiv, an unknown individual stole his service vehicle, taking a REB system, a laptop, tactical gear, a mobile phone, documents, and other items,” the police stated.
Law enforcement officers examined the crime scene, reviewed footage from surveillance cameras, interviewed witnesses, and established that the theft was committed by a 40-year-old resident of Kyiv, who had previously been held criminally responsible.
The suspect was apprehended. Additionally, during a search of his residence, police found all the stolen items and returned them to the owner.
The individual has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – theft committed in a state of martial law. The sanctions for this article provide for imprisonment for up to eight years.
The man has been placed in custody with the possibility of posting bail set at 300,000 UAH.
