This was reported by the press service of Rheinmetall.

They noted that the order's value "amounts to a double-digit number of millions of euros" and will be financed by Germany.

Ukrainians will be able to use the ammunition to combat various aerial targets, including drones. The shells are produced at the Rheinmetall factory in Unterlüß, where the production line was resumed in spring 2023.

The new order for HEI-T shells (high-explosive incendiary with tracer) was received in December 2024. Overall, since February 2023, Rheinmetall has received an order for the supply of 300,000 Gepard shells to Ukraine.

Germany has already delivered 55 Gepard anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine, which the Bundeswehr has decommissioned.

Assistance from Germany

Since February 2022, Germany has supplied Ukraine with military equipment from its own reserves worth approximately 5.2 billion euros.

Additionally, more than 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers have undergone military training in Germany. The expenses for this training reached about 282 million euros.

The last military aid package announced by Germany was at the end of 2024. It included Leopard 1 tanks, IRIS-T air defense systems, and Patriot missile systems.
