This was reported by the CEO of Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, as quoted by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
According to him, the first such vehicle was delivered to Ukraine in December 2024. It was manufactured by the Rheinmetall plant in the German community of Unterlüß.
Currently, testing of the military equipment is ongoing.
Additionally, it is expected that serial production will commence shortly.
The KF41 Lynx is a tracked platform developed and produced by the German company Rheinmetall. It can be utilized as an infantry fighting vehicle, command and control vehicle, combat reconnaissance vehicle, or medical vehicle.
As writes "Militarny," the heavy BMP Lynx, weighing approximately 44 tons, was officially unveiled by Rheinmetall in 2018.
Its main armament—a 30mm or 35mm automatic cannon—is mounted in the LANCE turret. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a machine gun and a launcher for anti-tank missiles, which can be customized according to the customer’s requirements.
The BMP is protected against 30mm projectiles in the frontal projection and against 14.5mm on the sides. The vehicle's bottom provides protection against blasts equivalent to 10 kg of TNT.
The powertrain of the BMP consists of a powerful Liebherr D9612 engine, enabling a speed of 70 km/h. The operational range on highways is 500 km. The crew of the combat vehicle consists of three members, with space for up to 9 soldiers.
