On January 17, during the day, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. Strike on Kryvyi Rih

The occupiers launched a ballistic strike on the city of Kryvyi Rih. As a result of the attack, four people lost their lives, and six others were injured.

Among the deceased is 20-year-old student Alexei and his 61-year-old grandmother Alena. They died near their own entrance. There is also information about a man who lost his second partner. He buried his first love in occupied Kherson in 2022.

A four-story building of one of the educational institutions in the city has been partially destroyed. Additionally, missiles struck open areas. Two apartment buildings and an outbuilding were damaged. A fire broke out on the fourth floor of one of the buildings.

Agreement on the construction of the Grishko Botanical Garden in Kyiv terminated

The National Botanical Garden named after Grishko confirmed the termination of the investment agreement that allowed the construction of residential and non-residential buildings on its territory.

Previously, the State Audit Office identified violations in the financial activities of the botanical garden. According to the office, the land plot of the garden became the subject of an investment agreement that included the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, a share of which was to be received by the garden.

Strike on Russian radar technology in Belgorod region

On January 16, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes on military targets in the Belgorod region of Russia. They attacked the positions of the 568th anti-aircraft missile division of the Russian army, as well as targeted the positions of the Russian radar company of the 336th radio-technical regiment.

Military Dmitry Maslovsky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously to Senior Soldier Dmitry Maslovsky (call sign Cobra). He was killed in hand-to-hand combat with a Russian occupier in the Donetsk region.

Additionally, the president awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to soldiers who were the first to capture two combatants fighting on the side of Russia from North Korea.

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) appealed to law enforcement after media reports indicated that the "Gulliver" shopping mall could return under the control of structures linked to its actual owner.

Investigators from hromadske reported that the auction winner for the management of one of the largest shopping centers in Kyiv — the Gulliver shopping mall — has ties to its real owner.

Visit of Slovak deputies to Kyiv

A delegation of Slovak parliamentarians led by deputy Michal Šimečka visited Kyiv and held talks with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. They discussed energy issues, among other topics.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico criticized this visit, stating that the opposition members "blindly and uncritically" support Ukraine's side and prioritize Ukrainian interests over Slovak ones.
