The Law of Ukraine "On Preschool Education," which comes into effect on January 1, introduces innovations in preschool education
According to the Ministry of Education and Science, new types of educational activities will be implemented: mobile, family, and mini-kindergartens, which will allow for a greater number of children to be reached. Additionally, there will be a variety of groups in kindergartens — age-specific, mixed-age, inclusive, and special groups, each with different educational programs.
The law imposes obligations on government bodies to ensure adequate resources and fair compensation for educators.
It is noted that, as before, preschool institutions can receive funding from state and local budgets, from founders, for educational and additional services, income from rentals, and charitable donations.
It is worth recalling that the law was adopted in June 2024. On July 5, it was signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to survey results, during the war in Ukraine, the vast majority of children are either studying in schools or attending preschool institutions, with only 8 percent not attending.
