The U.S. has suspended its program for Ukrainian refugees following Trump’s immigration directive.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has halted the acceptance of asylum applications from Ukrainians under the Uniting for Ukraine program. This decision stems from an executive order issued by former President Donald Trump aimed at restricting immigration.
США приостановили программу для украинских беженцев после указа Трампа, ограничивающего иммиграцию.

This is mentioned on the USCIS website.

It was noted that due to Trump's order "To Protect Our Borders," the acceptance of applications for asylum and financial assistance for Ukrainian refugees is suspended until the already submitted applications for residency in the U.S. are reviewed.

It's important to highlight that Uniting for Ukraine is a humanitarian protection program for Ukrainian citizens, allowing them to seek asylum in the U.S. for a duration of two years.

Additionally, this program provided the right to work, study, have health insurance, and other rights for two years.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump decided to suspend all American foreign aid for 90 days. Assistance programs will be reviewed for compliance with Trump's policy. Back then, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council explained that this does not pertain to military assistance for Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also assured that there is no talk of halting military assistance, stating that Ukraine continues to receive it.

At the same time, the U.S. suspended support for Ukraine through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), as reported by “Suspilne.” This agency supports social projects and economic development.
