This was announced by President Vladimir Zelensky following a meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessen, as reported by "Radio Liberty."
Ukraine has received a draft agreement on partnership from the United States. Kyiv aims to quickly review and sign the document.
“We discussed minerals. I know that our team has received the first draft of the relevant U.S. document on partnership between our countries,” stated the head of the Ukrainian state.
According to him, Kyiv will now study the draft agreement and “will do everything” to ensure that the teams from both countries can “really reach an agreement and sign this document very quickly.” “We will do everything to be ready for the Munich Conference,” Zelensky assured.
Ukrainian officials will work over the next two days to “make it possible to finalize specific agreements already in Munich.”
“This document aligns with Donald Trump's vision for a quick resolution of this conflict (the war — ed.),” said the U.S. Treasury Secretary.
Previously, Trump had stated that he wants to reach an agreement with Kyiv, under which Ukraine would supply the rare earth minerals needed for electronics to the United States in exchange for American assistance.
Zelensky declared that Ukraine is open to American investments. He mentioned that he discussed this with the American president in September 2024 and also included it in his Victory Plan as one of the points.
The President of Ukraine also noted that Kyiv does not intend to “give away” its minerals to the U.S., but rather offers a mutually beneficial partnership.
