This is reported by Reuters, citing two unnamed senior officials.
The agency notes that such intentions may raise concerns in Kyiv due to fears that the U.S. will stop providing military assistance to Ukraine.
However, Reuters continues, this is just one of several ideas being discussed by the Trump administration to continue supplying American weapons to Ukraine, but without incurring significant costs.
Trump's special envoy to Ukraine, Kurt Volker, declined to confirm or deny such intentions but stated: “The U.S. has always liked to sell American-made weapons because it strengthens our economy. There are many options. Right now, everything is in play.”
Recall that earlier, Republican Congressman Joe Wilson announced that he would initiate a bill to grant Donald Trump the authority to provide weapons to Ukraine through lend-lease.
