She made this statement during her speech at her presidential headquarters, reports "European Truth".
Thus, Sandu emphasized that the authorities have clear evidence of vote buying, labeling it as "fraud of unprecedented scale".
Moreover, the current head of state highlighted that attempts to buy votes in the country have been ongoing for several months. According to her, criminal groups and foreign forces are behind this, which have "attacked our country with tens of millions of euros, lies, and propaganda".
Recall that earlier, Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister Kristina Gerasimova stated that Russia spent nearly 100 million euros trying to disrupt the presidential elections and the referendum on joining the EU.
As of 7 AM on October 21, the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova processed 97.88% of the ballots. The data shows that 41.84% of Moldova's population voted for Maia Sandu. In second place is Alexander Stoianoglo, who received 26.35% of the votes. There is a high likelihood that a second round of elections will take place, as none of the candidates received more than 50% of the votes.
Regarding the referendum on further European integration of Moldova, the situation has changed compared to the data from October 20, when the first day of the plebiscite took place. According to CEC data, 97.97% of the votes have already been processed, indicating that 49.87% of Moldovans support the country's accession to the EU, while 50.13% opposed it.
