Seventeen more Ukrainians have managed to leave the temporarily occupied territories.

Seventeen Ukrainian citizens have been returned from territories temporarily occupied by Russian forces.

This was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.

Among those who received assistance to leave:

  • A man who lost a limb due to shelling and endured mistreatment while being imprisoned. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
  • Three families from Kherson, who were in occupation for a long time. One family lost their mother, and another needed medical assistance due to advanced age.
  • A couple from Crimea who left the peninsula due to their love for Ukraine and rejection of the chaos caused by the Russian authorities.
  • An elderly woman with her daughter, who independently navigated a difficult route through Russian territory to return home.
  • An elderly man with a disability who has vision problems and requires medical assistance and special care.
  • A 77-year-old woman who was evacuated from an active combat zone. She needs medical assistance due to chronic illnesses.
  • A man who spent nearly three years in occupied territory and expressed a desire to leave.
  • Two women who waited a long time for the opportunity to return to territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.
