Russians launched an attack on Ukraine using 167 drones and two missiles, with over a hundred of the drones successfully intercepted.

On the night of February 19, Russians launched 167 strike drones of the Shahed type, along with decoy drones and two ballistic missiles, targeting Ukraine. Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted 106 aerial targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this.

The occupiers launched drone attacks from various directions in Russia—Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. Additionally, two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were fired at the Sumy region from the Voronezh region.

The airstrike was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Forces and Defense Forces.

As of 09:00, the confirmation of 106 "Shaheds" and drones of other types shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions has been reported.

Another 56 enemy imitation drones were lost in terms of location (without negative consequences).

As a result of the enemy attack, the Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Cherkasy, and Zaporizhzhia regions were affected.

Details on the consequences of the attack

The Russian forces launched a massive strike on a densely populated area of Odesa, where over 250,000 residents live. Among the four injured is a child. Following the attack, 14 schools, 13 kindergartens, and a large residential area—over 500 houses—were left without electricity and heating.

In the Sumy community, according to the OVA, two explosions were heard, causing damage to windows of non-residential premises.

In Kyiv region, a house and two passenger cars were damaged, according to the OVA. The alarm in the region lasted nearly 8 hours.

In Zaporizhzhia, a fire broke out in the private sector due to the enemy UAV attack, noted OVA head Ivan Fedorov.
