Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using Iskander missiles and over a hundred drones, with 57 of the UAVs successfully intercepted.

On the night of February 5th, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 104 Shahed-type strike drones, and imitation drones. The air defense system successfully neutralized 57 hostile targets.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

They explained that the enemy launched missiles from the Kursk region, while drones were deployed from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and Defense Forces.

As a result of combat operations, 57 strike drones and unmanned aerial vehicles of other types were destroyed in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Kirovohrad regions.

An additional 42 enemy imitation drones were lost to radar detection.

The Kirovohrad region suffered damage as a result of the shelling. As reported by the head of the OVA, Andriy Raykovych, debris from a drone damaged four residential houses, four outbuildings, vehicles, and fences. A fire occurred in one of the residential buildings, which was promptly extinguished.
