Air defense forces shot down 45 Russian drones targeting Ukraine, while the enemy also launched missile attacks.

On the night of December 19, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, a guided air-to-surface missile (X-59/69), 85 Shahed strike drones, and various other types of UAVs. The air defense system successfully intercepted 45 targets.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

They stated that the Russians launched ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea and the Rostov region, specifically the X-59/X-69 missile from the Kursk region, and drones from areas around Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Oryol.

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and Defense Forces.

Thanks to the combat operations, 45 Russian drones were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.

Additionally, as a result of the active resistance from the Defense Forces, 40 enemy drones were detected and lost. The missile strike caused damage to private residences, apartment buildings, and municipal property in the Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties or injuries.
