Air defense forces eliminated 31 "Shahed" drones, but did not intercept any missiles.

On the night of October 20, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 49 Shahed 131/136 strike drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Air defense systems successfully intercepted 31 of the drones.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The enemy launched missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea, while the “Shaheds” were fired from Yeysk and Primorsk-Akhtarsk.

The aerial attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces.

According to the Air Forces, as of 10:00, 31 drones were shot down during the air battle in the Vinnitsa, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Odesa, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.

Another 13 “Shaheds” were lost in terms of location, and information regarding their destruction or landing is being clarified. Additionally, two enemy drones headed towards Belarus.

Consequences of the Attack

On the evening of October 19, Russian troops shelled Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region with ballistic missiles. As a result of the shelling, 17 people were injured.

Fifteen residential buildings, three administrative buildings, and a hotel were destroyed due to the shelling. Seventeen individuals sustained injuries, eight of whom were hospitalized.
