78 Kyiv City Council deputies voted in favor of the corresponding decision
The Kyiv City Council has approved a draft resolution to ensure the holding of a nationwide moment of silence in the capital.
During the plenary session on January 30, 78 deputies voted for this decision.
Notifications about the start of the moment of silence will be sent through the "Kyiv Digital" app. Additionally, relevant announcements will be made via sound systems in public transport and on the streets, as well as through digital advertising screens.
As the project initiators note, the notifications will not interfere with the operations of critical infrastructure workers. Furthermore, in case of an air raid alert during the moment of silence, priority will be given to the safety of individuals.
It is worth noting that the petition for the introduction of announcements regarding the moment of silence appeared on the Kyiv City Council website in July 2024.
