This is reported by Associated Press and Reuters, citing a briefing from Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco in California.

A man breached the outer security perimeter but was stopped at the inner perimeter, which was patrolled by police.

The suspect is a 49-year-old resident of Las Vegas, who was driving an unregistered black SUV with a "homemade" license plate. He claimed to be a journalist but did not have any identification on him.

Police noted that the interior of the suspect's vehicle was in disarray, and during a search, they found weapons and ammunition, as well as several passports and driver's licenses under different names. The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm.

The motives of the suspect remain unknown; however, the state sheriff believes that "we prevented something bad, and it doesn't matter what exactly that bad was supposed to be."

The U.S. Secret Service stated that the incident did not affect Trump's security and that he is not in any danger, according to the prosecutor's office, though the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect was released on a $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 2, 2025.

Attempts on Trump's Life

On the evening of July 13 (Washington time), Donald Trump was shot at during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The bullet grazed the top of his ear, resulting in a trickle of blood on the politician's face.

The assailant killed one attendee at the rally and seriously injured two others. The shooter was shot dead by a Secret Service agent.

The FBI stated that they are investigating the shooting as an attempted murder. According to investigators, the shooter is identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. His motives and political beliefs remain unclear.

Two months later, on September 15, there was a second attempt on Trump's life while he was playing golf at his Trump International Golf Club. One of the Secret Service agents spotted the shooter. He saw the barrel of a rifle with a scope protruding from the golf course's fence and "immediately engaged" the individual.

When the shooter was noticed, he attempted to flee in his black Nissan SUV. However, he was chased down and apprehended.

The detained individual was identified as Ryan Wesley Ruth. He worked as a builder of affordable housing in Hawaii, expressed his views on politics and current events on social media, sometimes criticizing the former president, and expressed strong support for Ukraine.
