Bilo's removal and life sentences for the murderers of two Ukrainians in Germany: key highlights from February 10.

The director of the Young Theatre, Andrei Bilous, who has been accused of harassment, will be removed from his position. In Germany, a court has issued a sentence to a couple who murdered two Ukrainian women in an attempt to abduct one of their children. Here are the key news highlights from February 10th.

Suspension of Bilous

The Kyiv City State Administration announced that the artistic director of the Young Theater, Andriy Bilous, who has been accused of harassment, will be suspended from his position. This is necessary for an objective examination of the circumstances of the case.

Prior to this, people gathered for a rally near the Young Theater and the Kyiv City State Administration, demanding Bilous's suspension.

At the same time, the police stated that they have opened a criminal case. The director himself assured that he is open to investigation.

Punishment for the Murderers of Ukrainians in Germany

In Germany, a married couple was convicted for the murder of two Ukrainians—a mother and daughter—in 2024, in order to abduct the latter's newborn.

The court sentenced them to life imprisonment with special severity of guilt. This means that without this, they could have applied for parole after 15 years, but now it is nearly impossible.

Additionally, a court session regarding the murder of two Ukrainian soldiers during rehabilitation took place in Germany. The suspected Russian admitted his guilt but argued that his motive was "hurt national pride."

Searches in the Kyiv City Council and the Hunt for Komarnytskyi

Law enforcement searched the Kyiv City Council as part of the "Clean City" operation aimed at combating corruption in Kyiv's land and budget sectors. During this time, more than 6.4 million dollars, 630 thousand euros, and 800 thousand hryvnias were discovered in bank boxes.

One of the participants in the transactions—a Kyiv businessman and former deputy, Denys Komarnytskyi—was declared wanted. The NABU stated that he is trying to flee abroad.

The President of Romania Resigns

The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, announced that he is resigning amid a request from the opposition for his removal. According to him, he made this decision to avoid an internal and external crisis that could arise from his suspension.

Contract Details for 18-24-Year-Olds

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, discussed the terms of one-year contracts under which individuals under mobilization age—those aged 18 to 24—will be recruited into the army.

According to him, those who sign the contract will be able to earn one million hryvnias in a year, study at any university in Ukraine at the state's expense after their service, and have a 0% mortgage rate.
