In just one day, the occupiers launched 72 drones over Ukraine. How many were shot down?

Russian forces launched 72 strike drones of the Shahed type, along with other types of unmanned aerial vehicles, across Ukraine from 10:00 AM on December 22 to 9:00 AM on December 23.

This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00, the downing of 47 strike drones has been confirmed. They were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa regions.

Due to the active resistance from the Defense Forces, an additional 25 enemy imitation drones were lost in terms of location (without negative consequences).

The occupiers launched drones from the Bryansk and Orel regions in Russia. The air assault was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Consequences of the Shelling

In the Khmelnytskyi and Kyiv regions, private enterprises and civilian homes were damaged due to the Russian attack, with no casualties reported so far; assistance is being provided to the affected individuals.

According to data from the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, as a result of debris falling in one area, a power line was damaged (power supply has already been restored), while in another area, four private houses, a garage, and three vehicles were damaged. There are no casualties among the population, and there were no hits on critical or residential infrastructure.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, the PVO forces destroyed five drones. As a result of the attack on a local enterprise, equipment was damaged. One person was injured, but their health condition is reported to be satisfactory. Windows in private homes and a passenger car were also damaged.
