On the night of January 8, during an attack by enemy drones on the Kyiv region, the air raid alert lasted for about 7 hours.
According to a report on the Facebook page of the Kyiv regional police, there were minor damages due to the debris from the downed target.
As explained by the acting head of the Kyiv regional military administration (OVA), Mykola Kalashnyk, explosions were heard in the region during the night drone attack, indicating that air defense systems were in operation.
Fortunately, there were no casualties among the population, and no critical or residential infrastructure was hit.
"As a result of the debris from the downed target falling in one of the settlements, damage to a private house and a fence has been recorded. The damage is minor. The facade and doors of the building are damaged, and windows have been shattered," Kalashnyk reported.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that 41 UAVs were shot down, with 22 lost due to location issues.
On the night of January 8, 2025, the enemy launched an attack with 64 strike UAVs of the "Shahed" type and various types of imitation drones targeting the directions of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
It was previously reported that in the Volchansk direction and around Liptsy in the Kharkiv region, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are restraining Russian occupiers and extracting their resources.
This was shared by military-political analyst of the "Information Resistance" group, Oleksandr Kovalenko, on his Telegram channel.
According to the military expert, if we can completely drive the Russians out of these two areas of Kharkiv region now, the occupiers will have the opportunity to concentrate the freed-up resources on another direction or several at once.
