Not a single one of the 67 prosecutors in Khmelnytsky was dismissed following the scandal involving the MSEC and disabilities, according to the CPC.

The Office of the Prosecutor General, as part of an internal investigation, was unable to verify any instances of unlawful disability claims by any of the 67 prosecutors from the Khmelnytskyi Prosecutor's Office. Consequently, they were not dismissed.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General in response to a request from the "Center for Combating Corruption".

The Prosecutor General's Office noted that it has forwarded the findings of this internal investigation to the main department of the State Bureau of Investigations, which is conducting the criminal proceedings in this case.

As indicated by the CPC, the Prosecutor General's Office has thus classified information regarding the number of prosecutors dismissed and their accountability.

Prosecutors from Khmelnytskyi will be able to continue their positions at least until the investigation is completed, and at most until a guilty verdict is rendered by the court, which could take years.

Recall that the former head of the Khmelnytskyi Prosecutor's Office, Oleksiy Oleynik, was appointed as a prosecutor in the regional prosecutor's office.

Scandals with the MSEC

On October 4, law enforcement officials exposed the head of the medical and social expert commission (MSEC) in the Khmelnytskyi region, Tatyana Krupa, and her son, Oleksandr Krupa, the head of the regional Pension Fund, for illegal enrichment of millions of dollars.

Subsequently, "Censor.NET" reported that law enforcement agencies in the Khmelnytskyi region were aware of a large-scale corruption scheme involving Tatyana Krupa, the head of the Khmelnytskyi regional center for medical and social expertise, as they were her accomplices. Thus, dozens of prosecutors, including the regional prosecutor, managed to obtain disability status.

In light of this scandal, law enforcement began checking officials in the Khmelnytskyi region and MSEC employees. The Ministry of Health conducted inspections and invalidated the conclusions of the Khmelnytskyi MSEC regarding the establishment of disability for 74 military personnel. President Volodymyr Zelensky scheduled a meeting of the NSDC regarding the situation with medical and social expert commissions and promised a response at various levels.

On October 22, Zelensky announced that the NSDC had defined a list of decisions "that would restore justice," and he approved them by decree. A few minutes later, it became known that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Andriy Kostin, had resigned.
