Sixty Russian drones were shot down over Ukraine.

On the night of January 3rd, Russian occupiers launched an attack on Ukraine using 93 Shahed-type strike drones and various types of imitation drones. Of these, 60 were successfully intercepted.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this.

The Russian forces launched UAVs from the regions of Bryansk, Millerovo, and Orel, which are located in Russia.

The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9:00 AM, the destruction of 60 "Shaheds" and drones of other types has been confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Another 26 imitation drones were lost in location (without negative consequences), and one remains airborne.

As a result of the Russian drone attack, several hits by strike UAVs on private enterprises and apartment buildings in the Donetsk and Chernihiv regions have been recorded.

The downed "Shaheds" caused damage in the Kyiv region: private homes and vehicles were damaged in several areas. There are fatalities and injuries reported. Debris also fell in the capital.
