In Kyiv, the so-called "toilet scheme" of illegal land appropriation has gained traction

The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, provided an example of how this scheme operates. Specifically, Timur Tkachенко recorded a video address while on Verbova Street, near the "Pochaina" metro station. It is here that "enterprising businessmen" registered ownership of containers as real estate to later seize the land not only beneath these properties but also in the surrounding area.

“Hectares of valuable Kyiv land are allocated for non-existent buildings. This land could have been sold at auction for hundreds of thousands of hryvnias or even millions. This money would have gone to the budget – Timur Tkachенко noted. – With it, our community could have provided the front with tens of thousands of strike drones. But instead, the city’s land is being taken for a pittance. In this case, as in others, the businessmen aim not only to seize land under the containers. They are “cutting off” a much larger area for their own interests, rather than for the community’s benefit.”

According to Timur Tkachенко, the KMVA has a list of similar plots throughout the capital that fraudsters could acquire for a song due to manipulations with the legislation. These are not isolated cases; there are hundreds of such properties.

“This is Kyiv land being stolen right from the yards of the capital's residents,” emphasized Timur Tkachенко. – I will initiate an appeal to the Ministry of Justice with a list of these plots. I will demand the cancellation of the registration of these properties. Kyiv requires a thorough inventory to organize everything and remove fictitious structures from the registers.”

As noted by the head of the KMVA, in the future, to prevent the implementation of illegal schemes for the alienation of Kyiv land, similar issues brought before the Kyiv City Council will undergo thorough checks. In particular, such checks will be conducted in collaboration with representatives of law enforcement agencies as part of the "Transparency and Accountability" group.

Moreover, as assured by Timur Tkachенко, the order to establish such a group will be signed today.

As reported by Kashtan NEWS, as a result of the "Clean City" operation, NABU and SAP employees uncovered the activities of a criminal organization involved in land corruption within the Kyiv City Council and KMDA.
