A 24-year-old Belarusian volunteer has lost her life in the war in Ukraine.

A 24-year-old volunteer from Belarus, Maria Zaitseva, lost her life in the Donetsk region.
В Украине на войне погибла 24-летняя белорусская доброволец.

This is reported by the Belarusian publication “Nasha Niva.”

The friends of the young woman informed that she died in the battles near Bakhmut, where she fought as part of the 2nd International Legion. She turned 24 on January 16, and passed away on the morning of January 17.

Maria Zaitseva joined the ranks of Ukraine's defenders following the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The publication noted that Maria is remembered for a photo taken on August 9, 2020, in Minsk near the Stella. At that time, she was injured by a flashbang grenade. Maria Zaitseva underwent several surgeries in Belarus and later received treatment in the Czech Republic.
