Ситуация на Купянском направлении по состоянию на 4 января 2025 года

This was reported by the head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, Andrei Besedin.

According to him, the Russians continue their shelling using all available types of weaponry: mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems of various modifications, guided bombs, and FPV drones.

The Russian army targets central supply routes, preventing humanitarian aid delivery and hindering civilians' movement.

The head of the Military Administration states that the situation on the left bank of the Kupiansk community has remained critical for three months. There is no electricity, gas, or water supply, and no social services, hospitals, pharmacies, or stores.

Currently, more than 900 people remain on the left bank, primarily elderly individuals who are firmly refusing to evacuate. In total, 3,300 people are still in the Kupiansk community, and local authorities are urging them to evacuate.

Those wishing to evacuate can report their intentions by calling the 24-hour hotline at 0800 33 92 91.

The Situation Around Kupiansk

According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four attacks by the occupiers occurred on January 4 in the Kupiansk direction. The defense forces repelled assault actions by the Russians towards Zagrizovo and Petropavlivka.

On November 13 of last year, the Russians managed to break through to the outskirts of Kupiansk and deploy their troops there. However, they were successfully eliminated.

According to DeepState, Russian forces also managed to cross the Oskol River at its narrowest point, specifically towards the village of Novomlynskaya. The General Staff also reported that the Russians are attacking Ukrainian positions from this locality. Nevertheless, they were able to eliminate the enemy's foothold there.

On December 23, Russian troops attempted again to expand their foothold on the left bank of the Oskol River in the Kupiansk direction. The defense forces repelled the attack from the Russian Federation. This marked the fourth mechanized assault by the Russians in December in this section of the front.
