They suspected that something was wrong with the documents
At the border, the "red light" was activated for a 1976 English retro car, the Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II (a variant of the luxury Silver Shadow series). Authorities suspected that the owner, a resident of the Lviv region, had provided a counterfeit compliance certificate for customs clearance. This raised questions among customs officials in Kyiv. The document claimed that the vehicle met the ecological standards of "Euro-2" – the minimum requirement for importing cars into Ukraine.

However, the issuance of the certificate for the Rolls Royce was refuted, and in response to the customs inquiry, the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise under the Ministry of Justice concluded that the vehicle did not comply with the "Euro-2" ecological norm. Furthermore, the average price of similar vehicles was determined to be one million 200 thousand hryvnias.

The Kyiv customs office sent a notification of the criminal offense to the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the capital region. By a ruling of the Solomiansky District Court, a seizure was placed on the confiscated vehicle, the customs office reports.
