The dictator of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, may be preparing for military actions against South Korea.
Western journalists note that recently North Korea and China celebrated the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Against this backdrop, Xi Jinping emphasized the "great significance" of bilateral relations and expressed readiness to "write a new chapter" in cooperation with North Korea. Kim Jong-un, in turn, stated his intention to "steadfastly strive" for the development of cooperation with China.
However, journalists point out that Kim Jong-un is fundamentally reassessing his stance towards South Korea. According to their information, North Korea intends to amend its constitution by removing the declared goal of peaceful reunification with South Korea. This raises serious concerns among analysts, who believe such actions could lead to increased tensions on the peninsula.
Western journalists highlight that Kim Jong-un has already scheduled a parliamentary session on October 7 to discuss these amendments. One of the key topics will be the redefinition of the border status between the two Koreas. During previous meetings, Kim expressed the view that South Korea should be regarded as the "main enemy," and North Korea must be prepared for "occupation, subjugation, and the return" of South Korea in the event of war.
Professor Lim Yul-Chul, a North Korea expert at Kyungnam University, believes that Kim Jong-un may use nuclear weapons as leverage in attempts to forcibly unify the peninsula.
Western analysts assert that Kim Jong-un's ambitions could threaten not only South Korea but also the stability of the entire region.
