The Polish presidential candidate who debated Zelensky promised to support Ukraine if elected.

Presidential candidate in Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has pledged to continue supporting Ukraine if he wins. However, he also emphasized that his country will prioritize its own interests.
Кандидат в президенты Польши, с которым спорил Зеленский, пообещал оказывать поддержку Украине в случае своей победы.

Navrotsky made this statement during his speech in the Sejm, which is quoted by Onet.

He believes that Ukraine "could have fallen in the first days of the war" without Poland's assistance, despite the "heroism and dedication, the sacrifice of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."

According to him, Poland does not need to prove its contribution to helping Ukraine, as it is doing "more than we thought we could do."

Navrotsky also promised to continue supporting Ukraine if he wins the elections, but noted that Poland will represent its own interests and that Polish policy "is based on the principle of reciprocity."

He acknowledged that Russia is also "hostile" towards his country, but Poland "cannot afford actions that would harm our economy." He likely hinted at the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to Poland, which led to mass protests by Polish farmers at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.

Navrotsky also expressed hope for "greater presence of Polish enterprises and companies in the Ukrainian market and closer economic cooperation." According to him, this could serve to strengthen relations between the countries and achieve victory over Russia.

Earlier, Navrotsky stated that he does not see Ukraine in either NATO or the EU if it does not take responsibility for the Volhynian tragedy of 1943.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to him, saying that if Ukraine does not gain membership in the security alliance, then Navrotsky "needs to start training because a moment may come: he will have to take up arms [...]".
