The Dutch Foreign Minister assured unwavering support for Ukraine and announced the allocation of additional aid packages:
The Dutch minister discussed with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiga the preparation of the 16th EU sanctions package, Ukraine's advancement towards EU and NATO membership, energy recovery, and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.
The ministers noted the establishment last year in The Hague of a special register for compensating losses incurred by Ukrainians due to Russian aggression. They coordinated steps to launch the compensation mechanism and fund it through confiscated Russian assets, the first of which will be the creation of a corresponding Compensation Commission.
In October 2024, the Netherlands announced the provision of 400 million euros for the development of drones in collaboration with Ukraine. In November, Ukraine received new air defense systems from the Netherlands worth 88 million euros.
In December, the Netherlands announced that it would allocate an additional 22 million euros to enhance Ukraine's air defense and cyber resilience.
In total, Amsterdam has provided military assistance to Ukraine amounting to approximately 3.8 billion euros. This includes F-16 fighter jets, armored howitzers, tanks, and ammunition.
