In three years of war in Ukraine, the number of elderly people has decreased
Kyiv remains the leader in terms of the average pension amount among all regions of Ukraine, with a figure of 8,017.65 UAH, while Ternopil ranks last (4,484.69 UAH).

Meanwhile, analysts note that by the end of 2024, there was a significant decline in pensions in two regions of Ukraine. In Rivne region, the average pension fell by 24% last year compared to 2023 (to 5,159.85 UAH), while in Zhytomyr region, it decreased by 10%.
According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, there are currently 10.34 million pensioners in the country. During the three years of full-scale war, the number of this demographic has decreased by 497.5 thousand people, comparable to the figures from two years of the COVID-19 pandemic.
