Drones have attacked the Rostov region, igniting a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.

On the night of December 19, drones targeted the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery, resulting in a fire breaking out at the facility.

The temporary acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, reported a fire at the plant.

According to him, over the past day, the region was attacked by more than 30 drones and 3 missiles. The Russian air defense allegedly shot down most of the aerial targets; however, one of the drones hit the oil refinery.

Slyusar stated that as of 6:45, the fire at the plant had been extinguished. He also reported one injury resulting from debris from the drone.

Meanwhile, social media notes that the drones struck the ELOU-AVT unit, which is responsible for the initial processing of oil.

Ukraine is being blamed for the shelling; however, official Kyiv has not yet commented on this event. In the meantime, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the alleged downing of 84 Ukrainian drones, of which 36 were supposedly shot down over the Rostov region.
