Among all goods imported through Kyiv into Ukraine, passenger cars accounted for the largest share, contributing nearly nine percent of all revenues to the state budget.
Additionally, since the beginning of 2024, the top three categories by total customs payments include plant protection products (4.1 billion hryvnias) and nicotine-containing products (4.04 million hryvnias).
When importing vehicles, businesses paid 11.2 billion hryvnias in customs duties to the budget. Compared to the same period last year, the statistics remained unchanged – the import of passenger cars in 2023 generated the same 11.2 billion hryvnias, which represented about 11% of the total customs payments transferred by the Kyiv customs office.
For the customs clearance of all the mentioned goods, a total of 19.3 billion hryvnias was paid to the budget – this is nearly 15% of the total budget revenues for the first 9 months of the year (129.7 billion hryvnias), as reported by Kyiv Customs.
