An accountant from "Ukrzaliznytsia" leaked information about Ukrainian military convoys to Russians through her husband, who is a militant, according to the investigation.

Law enforcement officials have uncovered the chief accountant of one of the branches of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" in the Poltava region for collaborating with the FSB.
Бухгалтер «Укрзализныци» передавала россиянам данные о эшелонах ВСУ через своего мужа-боевика, утверждает следствие.

This was reported by the SBU.

The accountant was "leaking" the timing, routes, and specifics of military cargo trains moving through the region to the occupiers, as noted by the SBU. The Russians were particularly interested in the Defense Forces trains that transported heavy armored vehicles, artillery weapons, and ammunition to the front lines.

To gather intelligence, the official utilized the official documentation she worked with as the chief accountant of a state institution. She also inquired about "additional" information regarding the transport from her colleagues.

According to the investigation, the woman's initial contact was her husband—a militant from the Russian occupation groups fighting against Ukraine in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Subsequently, she was put in direct contact with a Russian handler.

Law enforcement established that before 2014, the woman lived in Horlivka in the Donetsk region, but after the city was captured, she moved to Poltava. She came under the FSB's radar in the spring of 2024 through her husband, who remained in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region.

What punishment awaits?

The woman was detained and informed of her suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • Part 2 of Article 111 — treason committed in a state of war;
  • Parts 1 and 3 of Article 436-2 — justification, acknowledgment of legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants.

The woman is currently in custody without the right to bail. She faces a life sentence with property confiscation.

There are also plans to inform her husband, who is fighting against Ukrainian defenders on the eastern front, of the suspicion in absentia.
