The Russian command currently lacks clear plans to intensify offensive actions in the area of Pokrovsk.

This opinion was expressed by military analyst Konstantin Mashovets on his Telegram channel. He noted that this indicates that the strategic objective of capturing the city is not a priority for the occupiers at this time.

танк, война

The analysis of events highlights that Russian troops are addressing localized tasks that are not directly related to Pokrovsk, attempting to reach the nearby approaches to the Kurakhove defensive area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from both the north and the west. This suggests that the Kurakhove direction is critically important for controlling the situation in the region. Without capturing Selydove, it is difficult for Russian forces to advance northwest towards Pokrovsk.

The expert points out that there is a certain confusion in the allocation of resources and priorities among Russian military commanders, as they need to tackle several tasks simultaneously. For instance, in the Kramatorsk and Toretsk directions, the occupiers are trying to achieve success in Konstantinovka, which requires additional efforts from them. Currently, the Russian command faces the necessity of devising a two-phase plan that includes not only a breakthrough in Pokrovsk but also a subsequent assault.

фронт, война, техника

However, despite all these challenges, the enemy is eager to breach the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southeastern sector to secure logistical corridors between Volnovakha and Mariupol. In this context, the positions of Ukrainian forces in Velyka Novosilka and Kurakhove are extremely significant.

Considering all these circumstances, one might assume that in the near future, Pokrovsk could lose its status as the "center of attention" for the Russian command. At the same time, key focal points may become Konstantinovka, Kurakhove, and Uspenivka. However, redirecting military efforts is always a complex task for the occupiers, especially if it has not been planned in advance.
