The capital police have identified those responsible for the tragedy at the cable car attraction over the Dnipro River
Five individuals have been charged in the criminal proceedings. Among them are the attraction's director, the entrepreneur who rented it, the project designer, a technical inspection expert, and a former employee of the municipal enterprise of the Kyiv City State Administration, according to information from the capital police.
The investigation revealed that from the moment the project documentation for the attraction was developed and the necessary permits were obtained, the individuals involved made a series of miscalculations. In particular, the secured steel cable was unsuitable for use due to non-compliance with technical specifications and intended purpose. Furthermore, the attraction posed a high degree of risk and was subject to mandatory emergency rescue servicing.
Reminder: On July 21, 2024, the cable on the cable car over the Dnipro River snapped. A 20-year-old young man fell into the water.
