The official is involved in criminal cases concerning the embezzlement of funds for the clearing of Lake Golube and the destruction of Lake Sine
The Podil District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has submitted an indictment to the court against the former CEO of KP "Pleso".
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
The ex-official is accused of misappropriating budget funds in conspiracy with a group of individuals (Part 3 of Article 191, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
“The investigation established that in December 2019, the official, acting in collusion with the director of a contracting organization, signed a contract for work to be performed at Lake Golube (the ‘Blue’ pond) in the Podil District of Kyiv. Following the completion of the work, fully aware that the work was not completed in full, the suspect and the director of the company signed acts of acceptance for the completed work,” the prosecutor's office explained.
It later became clear that the contractor had not fully completed the setup in the irrigation pumping station building, including insulation, plastering, and painting, and had inflated labor costs. According to expert assessments, the total damage amounted to nearly 200 thousand hryvnias.
“It should be noted that this same former official of KP ‘Pleso’ had previously been notified of suspicion in a criminal proceeding investigating the circumstances of the drying up and shallowing of Lake Sine,” the prosecutor's office added.
