The highest increase in illness was among children
During the third week of the year, the incidence of influenza and ARVI in the capital rose by 8.6 percent, totaling 7,885 cases.
This information is reported by the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Among those who fell ill from January 13 to 19, there were 4,169 children (+14.8% compared to the previous week), including 2,039 school-aged children and 1,212 preschool children.
The number of cases among adults during this period was 3,716 (+2.4% compared to the previous week).
Over the week, 83 adults and 186 children were hospitalized due to influenza and ARVI.
“The weekly intensive incidence rate is three times below the epidemic threshold,” the KMЦ CPH reported.
