As a result, the deputies worked for only 30 minutes during the day
Representatives of the "European Solidarity" and "Udar" factions blocked the podium of the Kyiv City Council half an hour after the start of today’s plenary session.
Prior to this, the majority deputies insisted on including a draft resolution in the agenda regarding the Kyiv City Council's appeal to the President, government, and parliament regarding the inadmissibility of "political persecution" of Petro Poroshenko and local government representatives.
The proposal did not receive the necessary votes, after which the representatives of "ES" and "Udar" blocked the podium. Kyiv City Council Secretary Volodymyr Bondarenko announced a break for a conciliatory meeting but soon reported that a consensus could not be reached.
“There will be no continuation of the plenary session today; the date and time of the next plenary session will be announced later,” Bondarenko said.
It is worth noting that the plenary session on February 20 was supposed to be a continuation of the session that was not completed on January 30. During this session, deputies were to consider 27 draft resolutions. Among them were provisions for additional benefits for Kyiv residents who are Defenders of Ukraine, as well as issues regarding the protection of historical buildings that are over a hundred years old.
Since the head of the land commission of the Kyiv City Council, Mykhailo Terentiev, is still in custody on corruption charges, the discussion of land issues was not planned for today’s meeting.
