Experts have assessed the damages caused to the city budget at 200 thousand hryvnias
Law enforcement officials have announced charges against a former deputy head of the Capital Investments Department of the municipal enterprise "Kyivzelenbud," who approved the purchase of construction materials at inflated prices.
This was reported by the press service of the capital's prosecutor's office.
According to investigation materials, in 2023, "Kyivzelenbud" signed a contract with a private company for the renovation of a park in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. The work was to be carried out in the area between Mykola Bazhan Avenue and Srybnikilskyi Street around the Silver Lake.
“Subsequently, the former deputy head of the capital investments department, understanding that the prices of construction materials, particularly gravel and sand, were inflated compared to market rates, signed the completion certificates. Experts have confirmed that the capital community suffered damages amounting to 200 thousand hryvnias,” the prosecutor's office reported.
Currently, the ex-official is facing charges under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for embezzlement of budget funds in a state of martial law. The penalty under this article includes imprisonment for a term of five to eight years, along with a prohibition on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years.
