He now faces up to three years in prison
In the Dnipro district, a driver was arrested after hitting a girl on the sidewalk and attempting to flee the scene of the accident.
This was reported by the Kyiv police communication department.

The incident occurred on February 10 on Raidozhna Street.
“The 41-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Passat lost control while driving, veered off the roadway, and struck a 24-year-old girl on the sidewalk. As a result of the accident, she sustained bodily injuries, including rib fractures and bruises, and was hospitalized,” the report states.
The driver attempted to escape, but bystanders stopped him and handed him over to the police. A breathalyzer test showed 2.45 promille of alcohol in the man's blood.

Investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under two articles of the Criminal Code – part 1 of article 286-1 (violating traffic safety rules by individuals driving vehicles under the influence) and part 1 of article 135 (leaving a person in danger).
“The offender is being prepared for a notification of suspicion; the penalties for these articles include a prison sentence of up to three years and a ban on driving for up to five years,” the police reported.
