European zoos have donated 18 tons of professional granulated feed to Kyiv Zoo.

This is reported by the zoo's press service.

“Once again, our colleagues from the Berlin zoos: Zoo Berlin and Tierpark Berlin, the Vienna Zoo Zoo Vienna Schönbrunn, and the Innsbruck Zoo Alpenzoo Innsbruck – Tirol have come to our aid. They have collected professional granulated feeds for elephants, hippos, flamingos, parrots, waterfowl, pheasants, turkeys, cranes, hornbills, toucans, alpacas, llamas, deer, guinea pigs, rabbits, and turtles – a total of 18 tons on 27 pallets,” the statement reads.

As explained by Kyiv Zoo, the dry granulated mixtures with a long shelf life allow for feeding animals during air alerts and power outages.

“This has truly become a Christmas gift not only for the permanent residents of Kyiv Zoo but also for a large number of wild animals from the affected regions of Ukraine, which the zoo has provided refuge and shelter,” the zoo notes.
