Official accused of negligence in office
The prosecution has submitted an indictment to the court regarding a city official who overpaid 3.5 million hryvnias for sand and construction machinery during the construction of the Podilsky Bridge.
The contract for the work on the earthworks on the section of the dam from the Rusanyvsky Gardens to Perova Boulevard was signed back in April 2017.
“In June 2023, the suspect, failing to properly fulfill his official duties, did not verify the compliance of the actual volumes of sand used and the expenses for the operation of special construction equipment, and signed the acceptance acts for the completed construction works for June 2023,” – reported the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
The official is charged with negligence in office that caused severe consequences (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanctions of the article provide for imprisonment for a term of two to five years, with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, and a fine ranging from 250 to 750 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or without such a penalty.
