Former director of a private company charged with misappropriation of budget funds during the construction of a columbarium wall
The investigation has revealed that at the end of 2019, the director of the private company signed a contract with the Ritual Service of the Specialized Enterprise of Communal and Household Services of the Kyiv City State Administration for the construction of a columbarium wall at the Lisovyi Cemetery.
This information was reported by the city prosecutor's office.
The contractor inflated the price of clinker bricks in the project calculations and contract by twofold. Specifically, nearly 82,000 bricks were used for the construction of the columbarium wall from 2019 to 2021, for which over 1.7 million hryvnias were paid against a market value of 800,000 hryvnias.
As a result, the capital budget transferred an excess of 900,000 hryvnias for the bricks to the private company's accounts beyond the market value.
The director of the private enterprise has now been notified of the charges.
Previously, in connection with this case of budget fund misappropriation, the former director of the Ritual Special Combine of Communal and Household Services and his deputy were also charged.
For reference: The columbarium wall at the Lisovyi Cemetery is a memorial wall constructed in 2021 in the Desnyanskyi district, featuring niches for storing urns, where the ashes of deceased citizens, including those who fell in battles for Ukraine's independence, are interred.
